Clock Models (Thiago) (GSoC 2011)

Summary

The goal of this project is to analyze the usefulness of different clock models for NTP, contributing for an enhanced performance. The goal is to use filtering techniques to analyze 2 issues. The first is a parameter that provides an explicit connection between the polling interval and the accuracy of the synchronization process. The second issue is a more sophisticated model for the performance of the clock on the local system and for the network delay.

Theoretical Report 1 - Phase-Locked Loops and Frequency Locked Loops

This report consists on a discussion about the theory of the control loops involved in the Clock Discipline, mainly the Phase-Locked Loop(PLL) and the Frequency-Locked Loops(FLL).

Theoretical Report 2 - Clock Statistics

This report consists on a discussion about the current available Clock Models, Allan Variance and the parameters involved in the Clock Analysis.
