Please also take this opportunity to defeat denial-of-service attacks by implementing Ingress and Egress filtering through BCP38.

ntp-4.2.8p15 was released on 23 June 2020. It addresses 1 medium-severity security issue in ntpd, and provides 13 non-security bugfixes over 4.2.8p13.

I would love to get closely involved with ntp.org to make it work on a system of self discovery through a federated network, so not only does the services which have been added to ntp.org via the wiki would be instanciated, but to trawl the logs of what is checking against ntp.org pools and see if they are reachable to be added to the ntp.org the source of any checkable time service to be added to the continental pooling via discovery of the service location; this method of self discovery that is processing the logs so they are populating their reachable network clients for the NTP protocol on port 123 so they get populated in the /etc/ntp.conf of the continent they are based in as well as dynamically changed through self discovery like most federated networking is based in.

I believe this will maintain the time a lot better in our poolings.
